BOOK 3 EPILOGUE
After their visit to the circus, the children were sought out by people
Who wanted to make themselves look more important and famous
- Like at the Circus !
Now people were seeking prestige and a name for themselves
with these new campaigns and schemes
People were gloating or fighting over silly things
They were counting or courting money,
Or wanting prestige and fame
Often people looked to the children for direction over what to do next -
Rather than think about making plans for themselves
The children felt uncomfortable with all the demands upon them
What the children wanted was to be accepted just how they were
Disabled or not, feeling OK or not, and doing things well or not
They were vulnerable too because they cared about things and people
The children had learned about accepting other people
Just as they are
The circus people had glamour and fame when they came into town for a performance
But there was no need to pretend amongst themselves, or with people they knew
Lots of people do put on a personal show -
Even when there's really no need to pretend
And Amber does not really want to be a big, fierce and awesome tiger
Amber can tell you that it's very nice to dream . . .
The town went back to how it used to be -
And they had all discovered some helpful tips
About accepting themselves and each other
And helping people out in better ways
The children went back to their old way of life
It was somehow much nicer now than before
They remember their time at the circus
And meeting up with the people and animals
They look forward to the next time they all meet up again
Whenever and wherever that may be
